D. Bruce Fite, Founder

As a veteran of more than 50 years in the Real Estate industry, Bruce’s career has included single family residential developments to industrial, office, and retail. Bruce learned the business literally from the ground up as a youth by helping his grandfather appraise farmland in the river bottoms of northwest Arkansas.

During the Korean War, Bruce joined the Naval Cadets and flew with various branches of the military for over 15 years finishing up as a decorated test pilot in Sacramento in 1968.

Bruce along with his wife Darlyne formed what is now Fite Development Company in 1970 and built the business into one of northern California’s most well respected real estate development companies.

Building on his early experience in assessing land and its potential, he was able to make key strategic investments in the path of growth and branched out into building “spec” warehouses for the rapidly expanding markets around the Sacramento region. Bruce was the first to pioneer the Highway 50 corridor, and his development influence spread to include the outlying areas of Woodland and Stockton. Since the early days he has diversified into all types of commercial projects including regional malls, manufacturing facilities, Class A office, and even the restoration and rehabilitation of an old winery which now houses the company’s corporate offices.

Bruce followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father by becoming a founding board member of American River Bank; where he served on the Board of Directors for 10 years.

He is also actively involved as a Board member for his church, Warehouse Christian Ministries, and Monte Vista Christian School located in Watsonville, California.
