Charles D. "Chet" Fite, President Chet is a third generation real estate developer, and has been involved with the family-owned firm since his teens. Chet began working on the concrete crews during the mid 1970’s learning the nuts and bolts of the construction industry. He also spent time learning carpentry, and coordinated a number of projects during his college years. The knowledge he gained from these early experiences has augmented his approach to development. After graduation from college in 1980 he began to get intimately involved in all aspects of the development side of the business; from planning, to finance, to leasing to asset management. With his help, implementation of vertical integration was accomplished, and as a result the company consists of in addition to development, an in-house construction company, a leasing/brokerage company, and an asset and property management team. This integration has enabled Fite Development Company to attain a very high quality of service and a reputation as a premier development company in the region. The importance of a good reputation is a lesson passed down to Chet from his grandfather, and one that is zealously protected. In addition to the daily work of the company, Chet has served as chairman of the Commercial Builders Council of the Building Industry Association of Superior California, is a licensed Real Estate Broker, and, in true family tradition, is the Chairman of the Board of American River Bankshares, becoming the fourth generation to participate in banking. Chet is also actively involved in the local community. He serves on the Board for EMQ FamiliesFirst, Inc., a provider of foster family and metal health services for children. He also serves as chair of the Board of American River Bankshares Foundation; which is committed to supporting organizations that create opportunity and provide physical and emotional well-being for the most vulnerable women and children in our local region.
